Commitment & Structure of Volunteering
We deeply value the time, skills, and dedication that volunteers bring to our mission. We recognize that volunteering is a commitment, and we strive to create an environment that is flexible, meaningful, and impactful while respecting the diverse responsibilities that volunteers may have.
To ensure that both volunteers and the organization benefit from the experience, our volunteer structure is designed as follows:
Engagement Period
Volunteers commit to a 4-month part-time engagement, allowing enough time to contribute meaningfully to ongoing projects while balancing other personal and professional responsibilities.
Time Commitment
Volunteers should have the availability to engage for at least 15 hours per week in a way that aligns with project timelines and deliverables. We encourage applicants to consider this requirement carefully before applying to ensure they can fully participate.
Mode of Engagement
Most volunteer activities will be conducted remotely, with hybrid or in-person engagements for volunteers involved in fieldwork or community-based activities. We aim to create flexible engagement models that accommodate volunteers' availability while ensuring program success.
Respect for Volunteer Contributions
We appreciate and value the contributions of every volunteer and strive to provide a supportive, collaborative, and engaging experience. Volunteers will receive clear guidance, mentorship, and opportunities for learning and professional growth throughout their time with us.
Volunteer Eligibility Based on Location
We welcome volunteers from diverse backgrounds and locations. We have 2 types of volunteer opportunities.
Remote Volunteer Opportunities
For roles that are fully remote, we welcome applications from both local and international volunteers who are passionate about public health, research, policy, and advocacy. These roles allow individuals to contribute from anywhere in the world, engaging in areas such as data analysis, policy research, communications, knowledge dissemination, and digital engagement among others.
Hybrid Volunteer Opportunities
For those interested in community-based or fieldwork roles, opportunities are currently only available for individuals who are physically in Kenya. These roles involve working directly with communities, supporting field research, conducting stakeholder engagement, and implementing grassroots health initiatives. Volunteers in these positions may be required to travel to project sites within the country.
