Board Member

Francesca Chiara is a global health professional with over a decade of experience in antimicrobial resistance (AMR), policy advocacy, and strategic partnerships. She has worked with leading organizations such as the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP), WHO, Wellcome, and the South Centre, securing grants, managing research portfolios, and driving impactful collaborations. Currently serving as Chair of the Board for the AMR Narrative, Francesca is dedicated to improving patients’ advocacy and representation in the global discourse on AMR.

With a PhD from University College London and an MPH from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Francesca brings a strong interdisciplinary approach to AMR governance, health system strengthening, and access to essential medicines.

Rabia Khan is a public health expert, field epidemiologist, and data strategist with over 25 years of experience working across health systems, policy, and research. She specialises in leveraging data to drive impact, build trust, and address health inequities. Her work spans mentoring future public health leaders, shaping global health equity discussions, and advising on evidence-based decision-making. Her expertise spans antimicrobial resistance (AMR), One Health, and data driven approaches to health security.

As a leader in health equity, she brings a strategic lens to governance, innovation, and stakeholder engagement. She actively works to advance social accountability and inclusive leadership, driving equity focused solutions that create lasting change in communities and health systems.

Liviya is the Director of Fundraising at Food for Education (F4E). This role builds on her nearly 10 years of experience working in fundraising for social enterprises and strategy consulting across East Africa. During her time leading fundraising at F4E, F4E has won the 2024 Skoll Award, the 2024 Audacious Project, the Elevate Prize, and the Lipman Family Prize at the University of Pennsylvania. They've 5xed their annual fundraising and scaled their fundraising team by 4x.

Liviya is a Princeton in Africa alumna. She is an alumna of the George Washington University, where she graduated with honors in a Bachelor's degree in international affairs with concentrations in Africa and global public health.

Robin writes and produces feature stories, documentaries, and podcasts on science, health, medicine, and technology. Her projects have shown at international film festivals, the British Film Institute, on PBS, and as part of Alfred P. Sloan Foundation’s Science on Screen series. She serves as a film envoy for American Film Showcase, a cultural diplomacy program.

As a Ferriss – UC Berkeley Psychedelic Journalism Fellow, Robin wrote Unusual Suspects, and is producing a podcast series on psychedelic therapies with Texas Public Radio. Previously, she led communications for CARB-X, a global non-profit advancing new antibiotics, vaccines, and rapid diagnostics for drug-resistant bacterial infections.

Robin holds a BS in biology from Boston College, and an MFA in film production from Boston University.

Edwin is a distinguished pharmacist and Global Health Fellow with extensive expertise in regulatory and clinical practices. With over two decades of experience, he has worked across multiple sectors, including retail management, project consultancy, training, and research on a global scale. His work has significantly contributed to the development of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) strategies, global health policy, and pharmaceutical regulation, shaping healthcare systems worldwide. Passionate about addressing the overlooked drivers of infectious diseases, he has been instrumental in designing and implementing data-driven, scalable interventions that enhance public health resilience and patient outcomes. His ability to translate complex scientific research into actionable policies and programs has made him a key contributor to global health initiatives. He has worked closely with international organizations, government bodies, and non-profits to ensure that policies and interventions are not only evidence-based but also adaptable to diverse healthcare settings.

As a dedicated member of our Advisory Board, Edwin brings invaluable expertise to our mission of developing and disseminating innovative, evidence-based solutions to combat infectious diseases, including AMR. His leadership in antimicrobial stewardship, health protection training, and vaccination programs has helped drive forward initiatives that prioritize sustainable and impactful health interventions. He has played a critical role in strengthening healthcare workforce capacity through training programs that equip professionals with the necessary skills to tackle emerging health challenges. Additionally, his experience in securing research funding and leading multi-disciplinary collaborations has been instrumental in expanding the reach of public health initiatives. He actively contributes to thought leadership by publishing research, speaking at international conferences, and mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Edwin's passion for improving healthcare accessibility and patient safety extends beyond policy and research. He is actively involved in initiatives that support underprivileged communities, ensuring that life-saving interventions reach those who need them most. His holistic approach to addressing infectious diseases and AMR combines scientific rigor with real-world application, making him an invaluable asset to our organization. With a strong background in education, research, and policy development, he provides critical insights that empower our organization to implement effective, scalable strategies that address the root causes of infectious diseases and improve global health outcomes.
